Hello long lost friends!

It’s been pretty quiet around here the past four months or so. Okay, let’s be honest, it’s been completely quiet here. So if you’re still along for the ride, thank you for being here.

In August, Joe and I moved from Ohio to Michigan. With the second move in two years, a new job, new town, and crazy schedule, blogging had to be put on the back burner for a while. You know what it’s like. These are some of the biggest changes in anyone’s life, so everything else just has to wait at the back of the queue whilst you adapt to these moments. Surprisingly, navigating the hardships of finding a new job appeared to be the hardest process. I’d forgotten how hard it is to search for a job, not least improving your resume to make it the best it can be. My friend told me to enlist the help of a company like ARC Resumes michigan who would be able to help me clean it so I could find the job of my dreams. It was a great idea! The only downfall was that she had told me too late, and I had already been offered a position with this new company. It’s definitely one to think about for the future though. So, as you can see, we had to deal with a busy few months.

With the start of the new year, I am happy to report that life has finally slowed down a bit here in the Rodgers household and I am excited to get back to sharing regularly on The Mexitalian. This outlet has been so much fun for me and such an important way to connect with others, including making real-life and wonderful blogging buddies in Charlotte and Cleveland. I am excited to get back to sharing great food and travel with you all.

A few things I have planned to share in 2019:

  • Travel recap from our summer trip to Portugal
  • Travel recap from my trip to Peru (told you I was busy!)
  • Life back in Michigan + where we’ve been eating
  • Lots of new and easy recipes

I would love to hear from you. What would you like to see on The Mexitalian in 2019?!

XO,

Alyssa
